I was married to one of the officers listed, who continues to think he is above the law. Chief Monroe did everything he could to punish him. I do not blame him, I know he tried his best to get him off the force. I blame the court system, FOP lawyers that protect them and the officers who brake the rules and the standards set forth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684274417834349897.post-46577812373779037112012-03-21T00:50:28.788-04:002012-03-21T00:50:28.788-04:00Thank you for your comment. citynewswatch editoria...Thank you for your comment. citynewswatch editorial staff agrees, having received other private comments about a wide variety of disciplinary action that has not been taken, even for officers who have been arrested (arrests that disappeared with no court action or other explanation), who are publicly documented to associate with known felons, in contrast to disciplinary aciton that was taken against officers who seemingly only spoke up as a matter of ethics and law about the current functions within the department. Internal Affairs investigations begun even on Rodney Monroe have been left unexplained, so how is the public to have any trust in what has happened to officers?

When the City Council, City Manager, and Mayor keep allowing him to operate in this way in the face of documents that contradict his statements about very serious matters, what is the public to trust? How are the good officers to operate without fear for their jobs or personal safety? How is the public of Charlotte to do the same?

Your statements are correct with one caveat: the baseline is already established firmly in the CMPD Directives and Codes of Conduct. The problem is as exactly as you state, in the leadership, equity and execution of those standards.

Please write confidentially with your specific concerns.citynewswatchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14214511334944878054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684274417834349897.post-39259914007079879932012-03-20T15:31:56.527-04:002012-03-20T15:31:56.527-04:00I don’t think just because these officers have bee...I don’t think just because these officers have been disciplined it makes them bad officers. There are bad officers out there however in some of these cases there may have been other issues surrounding the suspensions. I think the leadership around the suspensions should step forward and give reasons and exceptions for each. Maybe a baseline should be established. I have good feeling that many suspensions may have been just to prove a point and in most other cases have been overlooked. CMPD has a real issue with standards and equal treatment when it comes to suspensions from my understanding.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684274417834349897.post-14576969150056364172012-01-12T23:31:26.234-05:002012-01-12T23:31:26.234-05:00You should do some digging into Officer Fitzpatric...You should do some digging into Officer Fitzpatrick.....once again he's in trouble possibly facing termination this time. Just goes to prove the theory behind this article is so amazing, yet so sad how they are trying to cover it up. Also, those hours were a little off, he's well over 80hrs of suspension. Plus he was transfered off night shift all of the sudden? Might be interesting to see what you could find out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684274417834349897.post-73115599573838423012012-01-11T16:56:15.426-05:002012-01-11T16:56:15.426-05:00You truly have just touched the tip of the iceberg...You truly have just touched the tip of the iceberg at Cmpd. The corruption is endemic now at Cmpd.
Know that many I speak to at Cmpd fully support the reporting you are doing.
They especially appreciate that you do not speculate but have facts to back up your Blog articles.
Many know that Monroe, Medlock are the primary ringleaders in all the corruption going on at Cmpd.
They have their "helpers"...but make no mistake, they are behind it all. The fix has been in from the beginning of Rodney's reign. It is amazing how high this goes and the people that are involved. The truth about dealings in Charlotte makes Chicago politics look tame.
The RACS,Tammy Hatley, Jeff Pless, all of the people passed over for less qualified for jobs and promotions by Rodney's orders. The "rule of five", the lies, the coverups...and on and on and on.
Then there are the nefarious crime stats, what a joke they are! Ask around about cmpd's special shop lifting "program", what a cover that is. And do many other sneaky ways they are hiding the real numbers.
Please keep up your good work , and do not allow them to intimidate you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684274417834349897.post-85774647281291457112012-01-11T14:37:10.491-05:002012-01-11T14:37:10.491-05:00Excellent reporting and digging!
